The RV1 bus service links Bankside with Covent Garden, South Bank, Waterloo, London Bridge and Tower Hill. Alternatively the 381 runs between Waterloo Station and Tower Bridge.

If you’re looking for an alternative mode of transport that offers both impressive views of St. Paul’s and direct access to Bankside, why not consider the river services?

MBNA Thames Clippers depart from Bankside Pier every 20 minutes. Routes travel westbound towards London Eye (near Waterloo Station) or eastbound to Woolwich (Royal Arsenal) via North Greenwich (The O2).

There are several public cycle and Santander Cycles docking stations dotted over Bankside. You can find both outside London Bridge station, multiple locations along Southwark Street and near Borough Market and Shakespeare’s Globe on Park Street.

On Foot

The best way to explore London is always on foot. If you’re travelling from north of the river, Bankside can be reached by walking across Blackfriars Bridge, Southwark Bridge or the Millennium Bridge.

A car-free walkway also runs along the riverside, connecting Tower Bridge and the South Bank with spectacular views of London’s iconic attractions.
