Launched in January 2017, Bala Baya is a sleek Bauhaus-inspired restaurant that brings a day in the life of Tel Aviv to Bankside’s Union Yard Arches. It is the first stand-alone project from Israeli-born Chef Eran Tibi, who’s vibrantly progressive cuisine pays homage to his Israeli roots. Spread across two floors, Bala Baya offers an array of spaces that can hold the most intimate of dinners, large scale events, and anything in between.
The menu has been beautifully created by their Executive Head Chef and Founder Eran Tibi by drawing ideas from traditional Israeli-inspired dishes with a Bala Baya twist. Embracing sharing in its true form; this is a hands-on, hands-in approach to family-style dining that focuses on the pure enjoyment of the best seasonal, organic ingredients. The restaurant is a poem to Tel Aviv, its countless cultures meeting in the city’s buzzing, bustling street life. This atmosphere and aesthetic is reproduced in Bala Baya’s interior architecture and design by multi-award-winning designer, Afroditi Krassa, reflecting the particular Desert Bauhaus of the city – an urban, sun-drenched, modernist masterpiece.
The Mezzanine is the perfect space for sit-down dinners and standing events alike. A truly stunning and open space in which your guests will be able to absorb the design and art elements throughout the venue. The space holds up to 60 guests seated and up to 100 guests standing. Bala Baya’s ground floor and bar offers a full view of the open kitchen with easy access to the terrace which can host an array of events. This area can hold up to 30 guests seated and 50 guests standing.
